A custom HYROX uniform for a client who wanted to compete for something bigger than a finish time
Some projects come with a clear brief. Others come with a story. This one had both — and the story is what made the uniform mean something.
My client is a HYROX athlete. Disciplined, hard-working, the kind of person who doesn't show up halfway. But when she came to me about her race uniform, the conversation wasn't really about her. It was about her trainer, about the community built around her, and about a team called Fortitude.
She wanted to compete in a way that honoured that. She'd put in the work — early mornings, heavy sleds, every station practiced until it felt less like survival and more like strength — and she wanted to cross that start line representing something beyond her own name. She wanted to wear Team Fortitude's name like it deserved to be worn: with full commitment.
This wasn't a uniform for visibility. It was a uniform for loyalty — the kind you build over months of showing up, being coached, and choosing to give everything you have.
Designing with that intention changes how you approach every detail. The piece had to be worthy of the team name on it. It had to look like someone who trains seriously and competes seriously — because she does. And it had to carry the spirit of a trainer who clearly pours into her athletes in a way that makes them want to represent her at a race.
That kind of dedication is rare, and it deserves to be seen. In a sport as demanding as HYROX, where you're pushing through eight stations and every bit of mental fuel matters, knowing exactly who and what you're competing for is its own kind of edge.
Team Fortitude showed up on race day. And the uniform was ready for it.
